This week Adams App Ave. has two apps for use in the classroom by students or teachers at any grade level. These apps will help teachers present information to students via their iPads, as well as an app to help students with iPads display information to their teachers and other students. One of the greatest features of an iPad in the classroom is the ability to turn this device into an instant interactive surface where students can draw, write and show information to the whole class.
Target audience: All students
Good for diagraming, writing, note taking, sharing ideas. A great tool for students to use as a replacement for the ‘old’ dry erase board students used and held up to show answers. Groups can collaborate and come up with drawings/diagrams/responses to share with the class, a group, or with the teacher. Check out www.showme.com for more.
Target Audience: Teachers/All students
This will turn your iPad into a wireless slate so teachers can project whatever is on Air Sketch – your photos or PDFs – which you can now annotate on through Air Sketch using your finger or a 3rd party stylus (I recommend a stylus for ease of writing). Just fire up Air Sketch on your iPad and open your specified URL to project your documents and annotate on them LIVE for your students. Present and draw on your PDF worksheets/docs/jpgs using your iPad as you walk around the room!
Another feature is the URL you are given allows for student use, or web viewing by anyone.
